Haxby and Wigginton youth and community association (HWYCA)
Based mainly out of Oaken grove community Centre the HWYCA aim to actively promote wellbeing of young people and residents in Haxby, Wigginton and the surrounding area.
What do they offer?
They offer a range of different activities from creative crafts to drop-in and youth groups. They deliver weekly sessions during term time from trained youth workers where they create opportunities for young people to either have a safe space to chill out or unique sessions to get involved in.
Who is it for?
Tuesdays
Ages 8-11 Creative Crafting Club Term time, 6:00-7:30pm
- Crafting group that supports creativity and well- being.
- Wigginton old school £1 per week
Wednesday
Ages 10-13 Youth Group Term time 6:00-730pm
- Exciting activities, games, sports, chats and more
- Oaken grove community centre £1 per week
Thursday
Ages 13-16 Drop-in Term time, 7-8.30pm
- Access a fun and safe hang out space with activities, chat with their youth workers, get access to youth services such as sexual health services and other youth support.

Youth Support at Huntington High School
- Mondays starting in September.
- Get support with exam and school stress, friendship issues, CV and career support, volunteering opportunities, budgeting and independent living, signposting to further support services.
How to get involved?
All young people accessing our youth groups must have a registration form filled out which can be found on our website or filled in at the first session.
Young people attending Drop-in services will need to provide an emergency contact number and number before attending sessions.
