Dealing with different issues,
managing in different ways

The Place

The Place

Based in Sanderson Community House, The Place provides activities for children, young people and adults who live locally.

The Place is about opening opportunities for all, helping children reach their full potential by improving wellbeing and mental health, growing confidence and happiness and supporting the community to access support, advice and services.

What do they offer?

The Place is open Monday to Friday, and each week they have an exciting timetable of free activities for the whole community to get involved with.  These include Monday and Wednesday after-school clubs with different themes each week; everything from messy crafts and calm corners to learning about how to become a football referee!

Whether it’s something like this you want to get involved in or whether you just want to pop along for a cuppa and a chat,, their calendar shows what’s on each day and you can access it here The Place – Calendar (york.ac.uk)

Who is it for?

The place offers a range of activities so that the community can get involved. If you are a resident in the Westfield area then you are more than welcome to attend. There are things for families, for young people and local adults.

How to access support?

Check out the calendar to find out when drop-in sessions and planned activities are taking place. For 1:1 support, residents can send an email to The-Place@york.ac.uk

*Coming soon* – You will soon be able to become a member at The Place (FREE) and this will help you stay in touch and have a say. It will also ensure that the children and young people who attend are safe and have their needs understood.
