Dealing with different issues,
managing in different ways

Kyra Women’s Project (18+)

Kyra is a charity that exists to help local women make positive changes in their lives offering a range of courses, life skills and events. This service is for people 18+ and for women only.

What do they offer?

At Kyra, we provide a welcoming and supportive space in the heart of the city, offering a range of one-to-one and group activities for women. Our doors are open to anyone seeking support based on the female experience, including those assigned female at birth, as well as individuals who identify as female, gender-fluid or non-binary. All participants must be 18 or older.

We offer a variety of wellbeing activities, from poetry, choir, and crafts to gardening, walking groups and relaxed drop-in sessions. Additionally, we run workshops and courses focused on personal growth, such as setting boundaries, building confidence and developing self-esteem.”

The Rose project

For those aged 18-25 years old, The Rose project is run by Sherrie who aims to give young women a place where they feel safe to socialize, do some activities and chat about things that they may be struggling with.

Midday Session – Friday, 1:00pm – 2:30pm

This is session focuses more on things that may be a little more serious. Whether it be something that may be troubling you with your mental health or well-being, this session hopes to provide a positive place where you can talk and engage with likeminded women.

This isn’t group therapy but they do have exercises with work books and try and support where possible, with whatever you might be struggling with.

Twilight Session – Wednesday, 6:30pm – 8:00pm

This session aims to be a little more light-hearted where they engage in some sort of structured activity but more social and easy going.

Monday Rose+ (beginning 4th March)

A drop in group with crafts and chats.

Meetings on Monday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

Perfect to meet others of similar age in a safe space, while promoting positive mental wellbeing.

For people aged 26 to 30 (you can join from 25 ½).

LGBTQ+ Group

We’ve recently launched a new LGBTQ+ Women’s Group at Kyra, running every other Thursday afternoon. The group is member-led and offers a safe, welcoming space for LGBTQ+ women and non-binary members to connect, share, and support each other. You need to be a Kyra member to attend – if you’re interested or want to learn more, just drop Maisie a message at maisie@kyra.org.uk.

How to get involved
