IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Services)

IDAS is a specialist charity in Yorkshire supporting anyone who has been subject to domestic abuse or sexual violence

What do they offer?

Our children’s services include 1:1 and group support, as well as support for parents who are concerned about the impact domestic abuse has had on their children. We work with children and young people who are both impacted by domestic abuse or who are displaying abusive behaviours themselves.

Support Directly

If you are worried about your own relationship IDAS can offer emotional and practical support.

If you have been impacted by domestic abuse directed at a parent, carer or family member you may be able to get support if you are between 10-18.

For younger children, support can be provided to parents via workshops and 1:1 support.

All support is tailored to the person, is trauma informed and aims to assist with supporting you to improve your safety and well-being. The support is not counselling although referrals may be made for counselling if appropriate.

We help and support young people who have controlling or abusive behaviours towards parents or their carers. We support parents or carers and young people both together and separately using support tailored to each family. Age 10-16
Teenagers who experience abuse in their own relationships also have the ability to get help and support through IDAS
