York Mind 16-25 Counselling

What do they offer?

While it can be helpful to talk to other people in your life about how you feel, it can sometimes feel easier to talk to somebody else. From problems at home, to feeling depressed, anxious or even very confused, there are many a good reason to go to counselling.

Up to 6 sessions and can be held on video call, by telephone or in person

Aged 16-25 and a resident in York or under the care of city of York council

Not in higher education at university

The counselling is free and is funded by the City of York Council

In person sessions are either held at Highcliffe house and 30 Clarence Street(Pictures below)

How to access help?

  1. First you have to full in a referral form https://www.yorkmind.org.uk/how-we-help/refer/.Or download the word version https://www.yorkmind.org.uk/seecmsfile/?id=61 and send it to YPcounselling@yorkmind.org.uk
  1. Then a member of the counselling team will contact you to arrange a telephone or in person assessment and explore what it is you might need help with.
  2. If you think this is something for you after the initial talk then you will be placed in the waiting list and matched with a counsellor usually within 6-8 weeks.
